Kafue National Park - Zambia
Situated in the centre of the southern half of the country, Kafue encompasses an area of 22,500 sq. km and is one of the biggest game sanctuaries in Africa. Noted for its beauty, the Park is bisected by the Kafue River, which attracts hundreds of species of birds and offers good fishing opportunities.
The principal attraction is the prolific wildlife which include elephant, buffalo, leopard, Big lion prides that climb trees during the late dry season , antelope, sable, heartbeats, zebra and cheetah. Birdlife is also rich in variety with a recorded number of over 400 species. Accommodation is provided throughout the year at Mukambi Lodge, Lunga Cabins, Puku Pan, Musungwa Lodge and at New Kalala Camp and others. There are also seasonal non-catering camps.
