Botswana Visa Requirements

 

The following is a list of information that you need to know as you prepare for your trip to Botswana. However, please note that this information is not exhaustive, and is subject to change without notice. Vaccinations

 

Malaria: Exists from November to May/June in the northern parts of the country: Boteti, Chobe, Ngamiland, Okavango, Tutume districts/subdistricts.

Recommended prophylaxis: Mefloquine or Malarone

Visas

 

Visas: Required by all except the following for stays of up to 90 days: United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, USA and Japan

 

Other nationals exempt from the visa requirement include the following: Argentina; Namibia; Australia; Austria; Netherlands; Bahamas; New Zealand; Barbados; Norway; Belgium; Papua New Guinea; Brazil; Canada; Cyprus; Denmark; Seychelles; Fiji; Singapore; Finland; France; South Africa; Gambia; Swaziland; Germany; Sweden; Greece; Switzerland; Tanzania; Guyana; Hong Kong; Ireland; Italy; Jamaica; Uganda; Japan; Uruguay; Kenya; Yugoslavia; Lesotho; Zambia; Zimbabwe; Luxembourg; Malawi; Malaysia; Malta; Mauritius; Mexico.

All nationals of Commonwealth countries (except nationals of Bangladesh, Cameroon, Ghana, India, Mozambique, Nigeria, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, who do require visas)

 

 

Visa application information

 

Two application forms per applicant – typed or clearly printed, both in original handwriting. All forms must be fully answered. Failure to do so may delay processing.

 

  • A passport valid for at least 6 months from date of departure.
  • Two passport size photos.
  • Copy of return air ticket.
  • Copy of traveler check or letter from company indicating that they will take care of all expenses.
  • Money order of US$107.00 payable to the Embassy of Botswana.

Pre-paid return mail service, (with prepaid label stamped PAID) e.g. Fedex, DHL, EMS, etc.
